Good Clean Fun!

These past few weeks have brought intense heat combined with insane humidity. In other words, its August in Iowa. We've been trying to get out of the house, especially in the early morning for a walk, but the heat is just too much some days. Needless to say, we've gotten creative with the entertainment of our toddler. Micah does pretty good most days, but there are times when he is just bursting to move! This winter will be interesting.
Micah will make anything into a hat! This is a 4th of July wreath Jason's mom made for me a few years back. I had it hanging on our door and brought it in to put away (since it is August!). Micah snagged it and decided it made a good hat. Silly boy!

We've known Micah is in love with Jude for quite some time, but lately his love has become more obvious. Here he is trying to 'hug' Jude. I am still blown away at how patient and resilient Jude is. Micah will literally lay on top of him and he won't even make a noise (maybe because he's being smothered). I won't even know he's doing it until I actually see him doing it. I think my most frequent phrase spoken in this house is, "Micah, get off of him!"

I love this next one. Just a small glimpse of the 'brotherly love'.

I gave Micah a faux hawk the other night during bath time. He thought it was pretty cool!

We're entering a bit of a dilemma here. Jude is so stinkin long that he's all scrunched up in his bathtub, but he's not strong enough to sit on his own yet. Oh well, based on the frequency (or should we say infrequency) that he gets a bath, it will only be four more baths until he can sit up!

Yup, he's still cute!

This weekend has brought some physical challenges our way. Micah and I were blessed with a crappy cold...sinus pain, dizziness, coughing, you get the picture. Jason has also had a tough weekend with his Lyme. Needless to say, we are thankful for two things: 1-that God's mercies are new every morning, and 2-for our health when we are feeling well. Jude has been the 'chill' one...gotta love that kid!

Hope you guys get to feeling better soon - it is so much harder to take care of the kids when you are sick too. Hang in there - please let me know if you need anything! Loved the picture of Micah hugging Jude.

Love the pic of Micah laying on Jude! That is not only a daily occurrence in our house, but multiple, daily occurrence! It changed from "Forest, get off Willow..." to "Forest, be gentle on Willow..." because she freakin' loves it! Weird...

Also love the faux hawk. Gabe wants give Forest a real "Fo-hawk" but I just can't budge. I think he'll look like a little punk. :)
