Our days are filled with music.
Sometimes I beat myself up because I'm not more on-the-ball and could be more intentional about scripture memorization with him. Then he starts singing. No, not all of his songs are filled with scripture, as this video reveals, but many of them are. The other day we made up our own dance to the song that goes:
Oh Lord, my Lord,
you will keep us safe,
you will protect us.
You will keep us safe
and watch over us,
in our coming and
going, forever!
I was having one of those moments where I was feeling like a crappy mom and letting the enemy convince me that I am a loser because Micah has a bald spot on his head from cradle cap and Jude has terrible infected eczema on his face and arm that resembles leprosy. Micah was begging to sing and dance to this song, so I turned it on. Jason was home and commented on how he had never heard the song before. And then he said, "I mean, I know the words, they're scripture, but I've never heard that song." I SOO needed that!
This song is Micah's rendition of Tractor, Tractor which is from the Slugs and Bugs Lullabies CD. There is a great video of the Tractor, Tractor song on YouTube. If you have a young boy, I highly recommend showing it to them.
This is Micah's version as he sings about his pi-paw...or Grandpa!
*Dear loved ones and other suckers who read my blog: I apologize for the few-and-far-between posts. In an effort to be frugal, bordering on cheap, we have just been using whatever internet we can pick up instead of investing in our own internet. This is no longer working or reliable, so I am making do, realizing some idols in my life, and waiting as we pray over whether or not investing in internet is an option/wise. I love blogging, and have many things on which I would love to speak of. I may even have a video or picture to share. But alas, I am learning to be content in all circumstances.

Ok, we just watched the video about 10 times in a row and now it feels like Micah's at our house! Ah, just like old times. :)
LOVE LOVE LOVE this! Thank you for sharing!!
Kudos to staying alert to the destructive voices that mommy-hood often carries and focusing on the work God is doing through you for your boys. You are a blessing to them and to us!
