We had a great time in Oregon. Jason and I both felt like we spent our time well, but didn't try to pack too many crazy things into our schedule. Sure there were things we didn't get to see, but overall we did our fair share of sightseeing. A huge perk (bonus) to our trip was that once we got there the only thing we spent money on was food and gas, which was outrageously priced, and $6 on a pair of dress shoes; mine gave me blisters within 30 minutes! My point is, we didn't have to pay admission to any of the places we went...which we were excited about.
Below are a few pictures of our trip, obviously not all of them will fit on one blog post, but I will work on putting together a slide show. For now this post will have to do, as we move in two and a half weeks and I have officially packed 5 boxes!
*Sorry, they are out of order, I haven't figured out how to move pics around in blogger, so bear with me!

This picture was taken by a well-meaning, sweet, Asian woman...whose talent is NOT taking pictures. She told us she couldn't see the water very well and we told her that was fine to go ahead and take the picture...she wasn't joking. Not only could she not see the water, but she also couldn't see Jason's HEAD! Oh well, we got a good laugh out of it...after we thanked her of course!

This is a picture of one of MANY orchards we saw. At one point we entered into a valley that was just filled with pear and peach orchards with a few vinyards mingled in. It was truly amazing and beautiful. It was so odd, but blackberries grew in the ditches everywhere, they were almost like weeds there...yummy, tasty weeds. We also bought raspberries ($1.50 for a whole pint!) and cherries at a roadside stand. They were amazing!

This picture belongs up with the other silly no-headed Jason picture. These pictures were taken at Multnoma Falls. It is a 625 foot waterfall. The waterfall you see behind us is just the bottom part, its only 50 some feet long. The waterfall was so beautiful! We even braved the hour long hike to the top. I almost quit a few times, but rested a minute and pressed on through. I will admit, it was worth every step.

This is Mt. Hood, which peaks at over 11,000 feet. We literally rounded this corner and there it was. We ended up driving to the base of the mountain (6,000 feet) and walked around a lodge for a few minutes before moving on. We even saw people skiing on that little patch of snow on the side of the mountain. That morning was probably the toughest for me, I don't do well with motion and altitude. Motion sickness set in pretty early on those windy roads.

This was on the way to Mt. Hood. It was foggy and cool that morning. Luckly it warmed up in the afternoon. Trees, trees, trees everywhere. It really was amazing how many trees were packed in.

We literally stumbled upon this dahlia farm. We were looking for a state park, which ended up being a boat ramp on a river, and drove past this flower farm. It was right as the sun was starting to set, so the sky was pinks and purples. It was too awesome to put into words. They had a little market area set up, but they had already closed. We didn't care, we took pictures and 'Ooohed' and 'Awed' at God's creation.

We estimated there were probably 7 acres, if not more, of flowers!

I LOVE LOVE this picture! On Saturday we went to the beach before heading to my cousin's wedding. My mom and sister rode along with us. It was so fun to be with that much family on the beach. Micah was starting to get tired and snuggled with Grandma as we walked in the sand.

Micah enjoyed the sand, and Aunt Carrie. Jason, Micah and I went to another beach on Tuesday. Micah enjoyed that sand even more. It was softer and easier to play with.

This one's goin' on the Christmas card. Can you see his toothy grin? He was just starting to cut one of the three teeth he got while we were there. He doesn't seem to mind too much in this picture.
Overall, Micah did great on the trip. He flew great, probably better than I did! We didn't have any major hang-ups and truly enjoyed our first family vacation. We ended our trip by spending 4 days in Kansas City. It was a great time to catch up with family, and even a few friends. All that being said, we are so so glad to be home, in our time zone, and in our beds.
