Moving Day Come and Gone

As many of you know on September 26 we moved into our new home. It's a three bedroom, two bathroom condo in Tiffin, Ia. I am finally getting around to posting a few pictures that our friend Jean so kindly took. The move itself went great. We were blessed with great help from family and friends and truly could not have moved without them. Micah was having a bit of a melt-down day, so I was of very little help...SO I was even more thankful for willing bodies to assist us.

Two glass shelves in our curio cabinet were the only casualties...and it was my fault that they broke because I didn't think to take them out and pack them separately. We thought we had lost ALL of my underwear, bras and socks, along with our toiletry bag which contained my glasses, but we 'unearthed' them yesterday. I will forever appreciate the small things, like underwear and bras! They were hidden in a pile of boxes in Micah's room. Our home is still littered with boxes, but every day it gets a little better. I came down with 'The Attack of the GI' flu on Monday, which was exacerbated by being pregnant, so needless to say, not much got done around here last week. Jason is now on the tail end of the same bug...stay away, it's a nasty one!

Enjoy the pictures!
This is Ulba, she is a foreign exchange student staying with Dallas and Rose Schrock. She is from Kazakhastan. Through her program she has to do three community service projects a MONTH...yikes! We were happy to help her fulfill her requirement. She was a hard worker and LOVED Micah.

Jean is awesome! I so wanted to take a picture of the sold sign, but couldn't find our camera before they took it down. Thanks Jean for being so thoughtful!

My mother helping unpack boxes. She gets a gold star for the day. While the guys moved in the big stuff, she stayed back and cleaned our entire apartment. Go mom!

Yes, Gabe! Gabe was truly amazing as well. He made sure Jason didn't need help moving any more big stuff before he left, and put up with my neurotic self that day...what a trooper!

Pausing for a kodak moment. Micah spent 98% of the day in that position. The other 2% was spent crying. Poor guy, all he wanted was a little stability, is that too much to ask?
We can't wait to have everyone over to see our 'humble abode'. We are tentatively planning a birthday party for Micah on Sunday October 24...which will be at our new place! That gives me a deadline to get things organized too!
