Not Me Monday!

To begin my first Not Me Monday in a very long time I would like to bring to light that I have NOT been posting Not Me Mondays 'illegally'. I most defintely did NOT give credit as requested to MckMamma's blog...seriously I did not...in defense, I wasn't aware until reading further that it was a must, oops! If you have a moment, it would NOT be encouraging and humerous to visit MckMamma's blog at all...NOT encouraging to see the power of God in their family's life at all.

I am NOT posting this on Sunday night out of convenience and a busy day tomorrow. No NOT me...I play by the rules all the time ;)

I did NOT celebrate my six weeks of not lifting anything heavier than Micah (due to my c-section) by re-arranging our living room with Jason. He did NOT ask me if it was a good idea and I did NOT shrug him off. I did NOT pay for it the next day, and possibly the next week. I am NOT stubborn or stupid, no not me.

We did NOT go to Kansas City to see Jason's family this past week, and we did NOT enjoy ourselves one bit. It did NOT take us over 7 hours to make the 4.5 hour trek. I-80 did NOT become a parking lot between here and Des Moines. We did NOT move only 40 miles in 2 hours and we were NOT at all thankful for the Lord's provision of safety during that time.

We most defintely did NOT leave Iowa City in a snow storm with less than a quarter of a tank of gas...no that would be irresponsible...especially with a 7 week old baby in the back seat. We did NOT say a prayer (after my hissy fit and guilt trip) that we would make it to the next gas station after sitting in the once interstate, now parking lot. We did NOT make it there safely and did NOT jump for joy when the price of gas was only $1.45! We did NOT enjoy the low gas prices the entire trip.

In spite of all of the above statements our trip down did NOT go surprisingly well. Micah was NOT a total dream child the whole way and was NOT silent the whole time. We did NOT keep turning aroud to make sure he was okay because he was so silent.

We did NOT enjoy visiting Jason's grandparents. They were NOT excited to see us and did NOT enjoy seeing Micah for the first time. We did NOT all get a little teary eyed when Micah grabbed his Great-Grandad's finger while his Great-Grandma held him on the hospital bed. (Jason's Grandad is seriously ill and is fighting double pneumonia right now.)

We also did NOT enjoy seeing any of our other family members. We were NOT at all blessed by a shower for Micah. He did NOT get some super cool toys and clothes!

Micah did NOT pee all over me while I was nursing him an hour before we were scheduled to leave for the shower. I did NOT scare everyone in the house half to death when I screamed as I felt warm liquid soak into my jeans. Teresa was NOT generous enough to offer to wash them and they were definetly ready to wear for the shower. I did NOT have to wear my second pair of jeans. Jason did NOT have to convince me it was okay and that the second pair of jeans looked just fine. I am NOT vain.

We were NOT at all thankful for our decision to purchase a minivan while packing it with the gifts we recieved. We have NOT been ruthlessly harrassed by multiple people for purchasing a minivan...this trip did NOT make all of the heckling worth it!

We did NOT get home and realize we didn't take one picture the whole weekend! NO ONE else took ANY pictures of Micah the whole time ;) That being said, I do NOT apologize for not posting pictures.

I did NOT consume my entire week's worth of calories by eating, quite possibly, a whole dozen of Teresa's oatmeal peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. They were NOT addictive and we did NOT eat the entire bag she gave us on the way home.

We did NOT swear off Micah sleeping in the swing last Monday. We did NOT have a terrible nights sleep Monday and Tuesday night. We also did NOT allow him to sleep on our chest the entire time we were in Kansas City, Wed-Sat. We are NOT totally confused about bad sleeping habits and what is okay at this age. We are obviously NOT sleep deprived and defintely NOT obbsessed about this particular subject. I did NOT let him sleep in the swing when we got home Saturday night.

I did NOT make a batch of my favorite Christmas candy today, Grandma Gott's Butter Crunch, while Jason kept and eye on the little one. It does NOT taste amazing. I am NOT going to have Jason hide it for a week or 2 so I don't eat it all before our Christmas outings.

This is NOT the longest post ever! I do NOT commend you for reading this entire post....as a reward there are NOT pictures of Micah from this weekend on Teresa's blog http://www.theblackleyhome.blogspot.com/ He is NOT smiling more every day...we do NOT enjoy these moments at all!

Now-lets hear what you did NOT do!
