Sometimes my selfishness and worries over the simple things in life are so obvious and I stop myself before they get too out of hand, other times I just make a fool out of myself. Yesterday was the latter. I spent over 20 minutes on the phone with my very supportive, very reassuring friend, Missy, discussing Micah's sleep patterns. All in all, Micah sleeps pretty good now, but after a month of little or no structure, all we had worked hard to achieve was gone. His nap schedule was all messed up and he was waking up multiple times a night to ''eat''. I stressed myself (and Jason) out all day mulling over what we should do to help Micah get the sleep he needs.
Later last night I finally got a chance to catch up on e-mailing and checking blogs. Here is where my self pity and unnecessary whining was revealed. While looking in on the latest blog posts I found that the creator of 'Not Me Monday' was in the hospital with her son, (who is only a week or so younger than Micah) because his heart rate was out of control and beating over 250 times per minute. I was struck with an array of emotions, guilt for being so selfish for taking Micah's health and overall well being for granted, sadness for McKMama and the pain she must be experiencing, along with an overwhelming feeling of urgency to pray for Stellan. Please join me, and many others, in prayer for this little boy. To learn more about Stellan, click here to visit his mama's blog.
Since I haven't updated my blog for quite some time, I thought I'd better include pictures of our bundle of awesomeness. Gabe Isbell confirmed our greatest fear, (okay, maybe not our greatest fear) our computer is in fact dead. So, until we purchase a new one, my posts will be more sporadic and spread out. I know you're crushed :)

We enjoyed a visit from Jason's Grandmother, mother, sister, and our new baby nephew, Memphis, last week. This is a picture of Grandma Darlene and Micah getting some snuggle time. Our thoughts and prayers are with her as well, as her husband of over 50 years passed away earlier this month.

I honestly think this is the only picture we have with Micah and Memphis in the same frame where Micah isn't looking at Memphis. He spent 90% of his awake time last week just staring at Memphis. He wouldn't get upset or excited, he would just sit there and stare at him. Oh, to crawl inside those little minds.

I love this picture, sure its a little blurry, but it captures the joy and admiration that comes with being a grandmother (or so I'm told). This is Grandma Cindy and Jason playing with Micah. Don't worry, he's not feeding him, although I'm sure Micah would love to have something to put inside his mouth besides fingers.

I couldn't' resist spiking Micah's hair up. It didn't last long, but it was 0h-so-cute while it did last.

So, I realize this picture is over a month old...and no, I haven't taken his 5 month picture yet, but I had to share this one. He looks so chubby and mischievous. I think he was going through a growth spurt where he got some chub and then got longer. I thought it was too cute!

Thanks for the update Dollie! Your little man is growing up so fast! I hate it when God puts something in front of me that convicts me of my sinful attitude, you handled it very graciously. Sleep deprivation makes us all just a little closer to the psycho line!!!

You are a great momma and I'm proud of you! And that kid gets cuter every time I see him! Tell Jason I particularly like the pic with him and Memphis because he's wearing Chicago Bears colors. :P

Dollie & Jason,
It is so good to get an update. Micah is so handsome and is growing so fast. You are great parents and are teaching him the most important thing in life - faith. The little things - like scheduling sleep and meals - will work itself out in time. We will call the next time we are in your area to see if we can stop by. Blessings to all of you, Love, Aunt Mary
