One year ago, our son looked like this...

All bright eyed, yet so small and precious.

Looking back on those first few days of Micah's life is kind of blurry, yet so sweet. While I knew he was ours, I still couldn't wrap my mind around it...and then he started crying ;)
Seriously though, I had no idea what was in store for the next year. I had no idea the insecurities that motherhood would bring. I had no idea how I could grow to love a child more and more every day. I had no idea what lengths I would go to to make my child smile...or sleep! I had no idea how excited I would get over the littlest milestones and how much pride I would feel for this child.
I had no idea how the love I had for this child would become a tangible picture of how much the Lord truly loves us. How He wants to hold us and carry us through the hard times, and to rejoice with us during the great times! I had no idea how humbling being a parent is...and how much it would make me rely on God for wisdom and guidance as I raise this little boy!

I also had no idea how fun bath-time could be! If Micah is in a bad mood or tired, but it's not bed time yet, put him in a bathtub full of toys...or give him a bar of soap (which is what he is holding in this picture).

Memphis might be 4 months younger, but boy-oh-boy, he's a whole lot bigger than Micah. You should see this kid 'crawl'...its more like the inchworm dance. I personally think he's aspiring to be a break dancer! Micah and Memphis had fun playing together when Jason's family came for Micah's birthday party. I can't wait to see what they're like at Christmas!
MMMMM! Pumpkin Bars! This was actually Micah's second piece of birthday cake (don't worry, they were a week apart). By this point he pretty much had cake eating down to a science!

This was taken the week before, on Micah's actual birthday. We celebrated at Grandpa and Grandma
Hoskins' house. Micah's Uncle J (Jared) share the same birthday!

It's amazing how wide he can open his mouth when cake is involved!

Male bonding...playing with fire!
This year has felt like it has gone by so slow, yet so fast! I am truly excited to watch Micah grow over the next year...and the years to come. Happy Birthday Buddy!
