Another week has passed and Jude is now a month old. Really!?!? It seems so crazy that four whole weeks have passed since he was born! It has gone super fast, which gives me hope when I feel weary from the 'newborn' phase. I try my best to not wish away the days, because they really do fly by, but the newborn phase is not my favorite phase. Don't get me wrong, I love both of my boys dearly, but I ENJOY them more when we all get more sleep and they begin to smile and interact.
We are sleeping fairly well, and although Jude fights sleep some during the day he hasn't had too many nights where he wants to 'party' all night! He may get up often to eat, but he goes right back to sleep...and for that I'm thankful!
This past week my mom came and helped out for a day. It was so great to have her company, but also her help. She cleaned the house, held the baby and played with Micah. What a gal! She even showed Micah how to blow dandelions and tried to fly a kite with him. The picture below shows them blowing the dandelions.
I don't know if you can tell in this picture, but I gave Micah a hair cut. I've done this in the past, but used scissors every time. This time I used the clippers. It went much smoother and more quickly! He loves to have his hair combed and LOVES hats, so he held really still during the haircut. It makes him look a lot like his older cousins, or maybe just more like a boy and not a baby.
Yesterday I pulled out one of those thin kid towels after his bath and let him run around with it. For some reason I hadn't really ever gotten it out for him...we usually just use a regular bath towel. Now he wants to wear it all the time! I put on his pj's and he instantly wanted the 'cape' back on! All boy, I tell you!
Jude is packing it on! He even has a few rolls on his thighs...which looks fairly skinny in this pic, but really have gotten thicker. I started using the fuzz (fuzzi-bunz) yesterday. I got sick of the Target diapers and didn't have any others on hand, so I decided I had nothing to lose. We didn't use fuzz with Micah until 6 weeks, but Jude is a little bigger, and I'm less afraid of blow-outs! (or maybe I've embraced that 'poop happens' no matter the diaper)

Oh, my... These are great pictures! Jude is really filling out and looks so much *older*! These boys are so precious!
Thank you for sharing these Dollie. We miss you all so much.
And there is great value in appreciating even the most difficult days and not wishing them away. I applaud you, Dollie for intentionally choosing to think differently about them. ALL of our days are a gift from God. :)
You are a wonderful mommy and Micah and Jude are very blessed- as are all of us!
