They were so excited to see Pipa and Grandma Kate. And Micah was quite proud of his 'boops', as you can tell in this picture. They are 2 sizes too big for him, so we took an alternative pair of shoes for when the luster wore off.

This picture actually wasn't taken on the same day, but as you can tell, this young man loves dirt. So much that he may try eating it on occasion.
Jude playing with the farm animals and the same Fisher Price barn I played with when I was their age. I love how a cow moos when you open the door! Oh the nostalgia.
Grandma Kate had an Easter tree that she had put together to work on with any grandchild that happened to drop in. She went over how Jesus rode in to Jerusalem on a donkey with Micah, and then had him hang a donkey on the tree. I'm taking notes for future Easter seasons.
*Grandma Kate gets a super big star on the calendar for hosting us this day. If you look close you'll see a bandage on her left hand. Right before we got to their house the door to their garage slammed shut on her thumb, slicing it open right below the nail. She paid a visit to the ER, where they drilled holes through her thumb nail to stitch it shut. YIKES! She's so tough, she didn't even let on that it was hurting, although I'm sure it was throbbing like crazy. She's one tough cookie, and loves her Grandchildren so much that she won't let anything keep her from enjoying them.
It wouldn't be a trip to the farm unless Grandpa Tom shared his ice cream with someone. Jude was the lucky duck this trip. I think he enjoyed it!
Ah! He found the kitty cat! He loves cats, dogs, anything soft. My dad brought out a beagle puppy for the boys to pet. Once again, floods of memories came rushing in as we played with that puppy. Although I now despise dogs, I used to LOVE puppies! And I must admit, he was pretty darn cute.
There's nothing like getting dirt under your fingernails, in your hair, and all over your clothes. It's pure, it's rich, and it's much needed when there are boys around.
We flew a kite, climbed the ladder to the barn loft where Grandpa's pigeons are, weeded the strawberry bed and just enjoyed a day in the sunshine.
I'm so thankful for the open spaces, new life, and green grass that we can find at Grandpa Tom and Grandma Kate's...and for bubble baths when we get home!

1) So gross about the finger nail... so, so gross.... heebie-jeebies.
2) Dirt is good for boys AND for girls with older brothers! Let's not forget that. :) Willow ate just as much dirt if not more so then Forest did (and that was a lot!)... and mulch. She loved eating mulch.
3) What a blast!
Please come back soon, beloved Blackleys. Mom a.k.a. Grandma Kate
