2 Weeks Worth of Pics and Holiday Fun!

The past 2 weeks have flown by quite fast, and I must admit that in a way I am glad they are over. While we had a great Christmas and enjoyed seeing family and friends, it is nice to get back home in our own beds and give Micah some stability. This is Micah enjoying his new favorite pastime...the kid wont take a pacifier to save our lives, but he LOVES to chew on his hands. Today he found his thumb for a little while. Most of the time he just sucks on his knuckles. This was taken yesterday before we went to watch the Hawkeyes win the Outback Bowl. I honestly never thought I would get joy out of dressing my children in Hawkeye clothes.
All decked out for the game, shoes and all...he looked so grown up!

This is my mom holding Micah and my Aunt Candi holding her grandaughter, Elaine (better known as Lainey). Micah and Lainey are 2 months apart and this was their first encounter with each other, as Lainey lives in Ohio. I think the grandmothers are enjoying this more than the little ones.

Lainey and Micah getting to know each other some more. Lainey's mom is on the right, my sister Carrie is holding Lainey. No, Micah is not picking his nose! We had a great time that night, but got iced in thanks to good ol' Iowa weather. We lost power and Jason and I ended up staying the night at my parent's. They have wood heat, so we were nice and warm...which is all that matters. The lights came back on at 1 am while I was up with Micah, it was quite a surprise when the house lit up!

This is a picture of Jason getting ready to weigh Micah in the grocery scale at my parent's house (its the green thing in the upper left hand corner). I didn't get a good pic of him weighing Micah because I had my camera set on video...oops! Micah didn't like it very much, not that I blame him! It said he weighed around 14 lbs...two days later at his doctors appointment the 'real scale' read 13lbs, 40z., either way I'd say he's growing just fine. He is already in 3-6month clothing, and with some brands 6 month sleepers...he's so long!

Cousin Seth holding Micah...again...he loves babies!

This is Jason and Micah in their silly Santa hats on Christmas Day! Jason couldn't be any further from santa (physically), but we thought this was priceless!

This is Shawn, Jason's step-brother, I think he likes Micah better than anyone...besides us, of course! It is so funny too, if he knows too many people are watching he gets up and leaves, but if he thinks no one is looking he talks and talks to Micah. I finally got him to hold Micah, but once Micah woke up he handed him back saying 'he's too squirmy for me!' Its funny (and cute) to see a 20 year old guy be so wild for a baby.

Jason's brother Jeremy and his wife Jen.

Teresa multi-tasking...holding Micah and opening her presents...we offered to take Micah, but she refused!

This is a dear friend, Holly, and her little man Isaiah...who is only 11 days old in this picture. He makes Micah look like a giant. It was so good to see them again while we were in kc!

This is Micah's 2 month picture...I love the little smirk he has on his face. Hopefully his arms will stop flailing around soon!
I go back to work this coming thursday and friday. In a way I am looking forward to this, but I'm sure when the day comes I will feel differently. Jason will be taking care of Micah for all but 4 hours of the 16 that I'll be gone, I'm so thankful for his help and love...I don't take his involvement in our lives for granted! I am blessed beyond measure!

Love the pic of Micah doing, what my mom called, "The Four-Finger Slime" - Fo did that from about 3-5 months but never became a thumb sucker - who knows! They're all different. Also like seeing a pic of Jason's brother - they look a lot alike!!

He looks so much like a little man all dolled up in jeans and shoes!! Wow, he is growing up! LOVE the 2 month pic too, great smile and DIMPLES!!

I can't believe you are back to work! Wow, where did the time go? It goes so fast doesn't it?? I will be praying for you! For me it was okay because work is busy and there was precious little time to pine away for my baby! Adult conversation rocks too! So glad Jason will be taking care of him for the most part. That will help tons!
